Europese Parlement vandeesweek: Bevindinge van verkiesings waarneming missies na die Oekraïne en Tunisië
As MEPs undertake activities outside the Parliament this week no committee meetings are scheduled in Brussels. Members will use the opportunity to interact with their electorates in their home constituencies. Others have duties in their parliamentary delegations, responsible for maintaining relations with non-EU countries. Two delegations of MEPs who were in Tunisia and Ukraine to observe elections there are due to present their findings this week.
Parliamentary elections were held in both Tunisia and Ukraine yesterday 26 October. Delegations from the Parliament were present in both countries to observe that all was above board. Croatian MEP Andrej Plenković (EPP) lead a group of fourteen members to Ukraine and will present the delegation's preliminary conclusions on the election process today (27 October) in Kiev. You can follow the press conference from 13h30 CET.
German MEP Michael Gahler (EPP) chaired a delegation to Tunisia to observe the elections there. Preliminary conclusions of their mission will be presented in Tunis on Tuesday (28 October).
