Die Europese Instituut vir Geslagsgelykheid (EIGE) het die resultate van sy jaarlikse gepubliseer Geslagsgelykheidsindeks. Overall, the EU scored 68 points out of 100, which is an increase of just 0.6 points since last year’s edition. EIGE’s Index also reveals big variations in gender equality scores between countries, ranging from 83.9 points in Sweden to 52.6 points in Greece. This year’s index focused on mental, sexual and reproductive health. Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dalli said: “Equal access to good quality health services, including sexual and reproductive health and rights, allows women and men, in all their diversity, to live a full and active life in society.” Die EU-geslagsgelykheidstrategie 2020-2025 sets out the Commission’s current priorities in this field, in line with its commitment to achieving a Union of Equality.
